It’s based on the future-focused spectrum from Be More Strategic, Chapter 8, which highlights the differences between teams that are stuck reacting to today and those that intentionally shape tomorrow.

Many teams will describe themselves as being “future focused” but, in reality, spend the majority of their time and energy solving today’s problems.
Becoming truly future focused means balancing shorter-term delivery with longer-term direction and positioning, learning to scan, imagine, and act before events ‘force your hand’.
This exercise helps you:
• Identify your current orientation to the future
• Discuss where you want to be on the spectrum
• Agree simple steps to shift thinking and behaviour
